Ian W Thomson’s second feature documentary ‘Becoming Colleen’ has recently been recognised with a number of awards at some prominent film festivals around the country.
At its world premiere at the Screenwave International Film Festival the documentary won the Audience Award.
Then at the Mardi Gras Film Festival the film was awarded Best Documentary.
The Melbourne Queer Film Festival also awarded the documentary the audience prize for Best Film.
The film has also been official selections at the Human Rights Arts Film Festival and the El Lugar Sin Limites Film Festival in Ecuador.
Other international screenings include the Translations Film Festival in Seattle, USA, The Queerstreifen Festival in Münster, Germany and the World Conference of Existential Therapies in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
